Safeguarding Policy

Studio 34 Music is committed to providing a safe, supportive and respectful environment for all students.

The welfare of children and young people is our highest priority. All staff, tutors and visiting professionals working with Studio 34 Music share responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of students.

This policy applies to all activities delivered by Studio 34 Music, including lessons, rehearsals, workshops, performances and events.

• Follow appropriate procedures where a concern about a child or vulnerable person exists

Safeguarding concerns will always be taken seriously and handled with appropriate care and discretion.

Responsibility

All tutors, staff and visiting professionals working with Studio 34 Music are expected to:

• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries

• Provide a safe and respectful learning environment

• Avoid behaviour that could be interpreted as inappropriate

• Report any safeguarding concerns appropriately

Where relevant, teachers working with children may hold appropriate DBS checks.

Lessons and Activities

Studio 34 Music aims to ensure all teaching takes place in suitable, safe environments.

Parents or guardians of younger students are welcome to remain nearby during lessons where appropriate.

Group activities, rehearsals and workshops will always be supervised by responsible adults.

Raising a Concern

Any safeguarding concern should be raised with Studio 34 Music as soon as possible.

Concerns will be handled sensitively and, where appropriate, guidance will be sought from relevant safeguarding authorities.
